Annotation

This study explores who is involved in agentic-activities relating to the Irish language on Twitter, using Twitter data and straining it employing the linguistic identifiers, ‘Gaeilge’ and the word ‘Gaeilge’ (Irish language). Tweets with these identifiers are conceptually regarded as formulations of agentic practice relative to language (Sabatier, P. [2007]). Especially individuals who employ the Gaeilge identifier are considered within this study as micro-implementers. Their communications supply partial insight into agentic activities specifically within the Twittersphere, linked to and about the Irish language.
