Teachers code-switch to a language which is not the language of instruction to aid students to grasp subject matter and achieve interpersonal relations with them.
Employing sizable data from a wider research, this article explored the degree to which teachers code-switched in both content subject and language Grade 5 multilingual classrooms in Singapore and the code-switching functions employed.
