The contributions to this volume demonstrate how a variety of corpus-based linguistic methods can be invoked to examine a wide range of issues in cognitive linguistics. Linking corpus-based approaches with a cognitive-linguistic perspective on metaphor and metonymy provides new answers to (old) questions regarding the connection between language as a conceptual and a textual phenomenon.
