This study presents transcriptions, translations, and commentaries on recordings of West Yiddish dialects in Switzerland and Southwest Germany, areas where this dialect variety asserted itself for quite a long time. Research focuses in particular on the sociolinguistic situation and the impact of the co-territorial German dialects.
