Abstract
This paper focuses on semantic representations that are stored and retrieved in anterior and posterior brain areas with the aim to investigate how these areas interact during lexical-semantic processing. Using a semantic priming paradigm it is suggested that semantic representations are activated in local functional networks while anterior and posterior areas dynamically interact in retrieval and post-retrieval processing. There is also indication that an interaction is at work between semantic relatedness and working memory.
