A careful employment of figurative speech is one of the important ways to enhance the liveliness and artistry of the language. An appropriate use of figurative speech comes from broadness of personal experience, meticulous observation, and a rich and diversified imagination. Appropriate and innovative employment of figurative speeches enlivens objects, reveals human nature, projects human characters, clarifies reasons, sharpens judgment, and foils criticism; so much so that, with body and soul in one representation, it discloses to the audience the multiplicity of the subject both in artistry and in connotation.
