The article is dedicated to the conceptual derivation problem, introducing the term 'sketch frame'. A sketch frame is the part of the structured knowledge (frame) which is linked to the derivator word and which gets within the scope of attention when the concept is formed which is represented by the derivative. A sketch frame determines to a certain extent the conceptual structure of the derivative. Also, a method for analysing derivaties using sketch frames is demonstrated.
