By means of the metaphor of “ecology of language”, the writer discusses how language policies, which promote multilingualism, could be implemented so that speakers of indigenous and immigrant languages could be provided with new prospects. The paper also addresses any potential difficulties encountered during such an implementation within the classroom and the community.
