Abstract

The article analyses the linguistic expression of F. Dostoyevski's subjective metaphor RUSSIAN SOIL IS THE FEELING OF GOD'S PRESENCE in the novel The Brothers Karamazov. By deciphering this metaphor in a way that corresponds to the author's intentions, not only the specific features of Dostoyevski's worldview may be investigated but also the meaning that the writer apparently had in mind.
