This work focuses on how literary criticism examines texts from a the metaphorical perspective, aiming to identify the metaphors in two texts about the book Eu, written by Augusto dos Anjos which are: "The craftsmanship in Augusto dos Anjos", by Proença, and "Preface to the book I, "by Backes in order to understand how they contribute to thr construction of meaning. The metaphor is taken as meaning displacement within its production conditions to understand that their interpretation gives room to both critical reading and the understanding of writer and reader involvement in terms of the discourse.
