In this research paper 36 deaf participants (of which some use only sign language, some use only Italian and some use both languages) and 12 hearing participants (who could not use any sign language) undertook a test using an eye-tracking tool in order to explore written texts. The study shows that the oculomotor movements vary according to the different educational background and the reading habits of both deaf and hearing participants.
