Abstract

This study observes how three Australian languages (Jaminjung, MalakMalak and the Roper variety of Kriol) use spatial frames of reference in location and orientation descriptions. A previous study on Jaminjung offers the basis for the exploration of the two other languages by focusing on the influence of morphosyntactic features and by adopting cognitive and cultural approaches.
