Abstract
This article aims to review the universal metaphors associated with journalism, especially the metaphor JOURNALISM IS MIRROR OF SOCIETY, in order to discuss the roles of journalism. The review suggests that journalists abandon their perspective of guide or illuminator, in favor of the information provided by the citizen's speech.
