Abstract

By analyzing the literary outputs of “Chico hard, ink and paper” and by taking into account the process of transposition of languages, the author can assert that transposition is the signature of the project. It is a comparative work that has three major goals. Firsty, the author aims to deconstruct categories such as translation, signature and writing, by mapping thought categories that inform Chico Buarque’s aesthetical work. Secondly, the author wants to demonstrate how the mirror metaphor helped build “Budapeste”’s narrative structure. Thirdly, the author analyzes how Buarque’s narratives can be seen as a metonymy for Brazilian literary works in the contemporary times, especially when it comes to breaking borders and crossing processes
