Abstract
The particular work centers on the linguistic realization of emotions and emotional experience through conceptual metonymy. For this reason, instances of conceptual metonymy related to emotion were recorded from a corpus of thirty-five poems by John Keats and analyzed. The research brings to light the significant role that the body plays in emotional experience. Moreover it shows that the linguistic expression of emotions presupposes the consciousness of the emotional experience. Overall, emotions in Keatsian poetry are examined in a multifaceted way, giving insights into the human thought.
