This piece of research mainly deals with how popular tourist destinations in Greece are being represented in view of the ongoing economic crisis. The movie Jason Bourne (2016) is studied in an attempt to draw conclusions about the changes that economic crisis has caused to Athens and especially how a former paradise can now be viewed as a nightmare. The commentary and, in general, the linguistic realization of these representations is performed in the English language. Current and past images of the city of Athens are studied and comparisons between these images are made.
