Abstract
The paper, situated within cognitive semantics, focuses on LIGHT IS SUBSTANCE metaphor in Lesmian’s poetical works. Three types of metaphorical luminous substance are distinguished and discussed by the author, namely liquid, solid and gaseous. It is demonstrated how metaphorical conceptualisations in question affect the dynamics of representation.
