To estimate the relevance of surface in selected nanoscience and nanotechnology (N&N) practices, this paper discusses the relationship between surface and their viewers. According to the author, for those involved in science-art projects within N & N, it is necessary to employ either highly specialized instruments or metaphors to engage with nano-objects and surface.
