This chapter aims to establish correlations between synaesthetic tendencies in Mandarin and theoretical accounts of linguistic synaesthesia. It will also clarify the nature of linguistic synaesthesia based on the synaesthetic tendencies of Mandarin sensory adjectives. Furthermore, a finer-grained account of embodiment will be suggested to refine CMT to ensure that linguistic synaesthesia can be folded into the theory.
