In this article, the author makes use of her own narrative as a queer feminist of color in academia, relating it to literature on shapeshifters/werewolves and racism and sexism in an academic setting. She shows how women of color are constructed as monstrous Others, which is the central metaphor in her study. Through her article, she hopes to draw readers into action or spaces of resistance.
