The aim of this work is to test the possible evolution of spatial metaphor to temporal metaphor in Spanish verbs meaning 'to go', 'to come', and 'to walk'. The composition of the corpus was done by selecting occurrences of these verbs in excerpts of texts from the 14th to the 18th centuries, using several criteria: (1) the presence of the place/locative adverb expressed in the sentence, (2) the absence of the place or locative adverb, (3) the presence of the preposition when there are two verbs in the sentence, and (4) the juxtaposition of verbs lacking prepositions.
