The article regards the question of language use, especially metaphorical and metonymic, in storytelling in comics. The peculiar form of comics, which involves bot, non-linguistic semiotic elements and linguistically encoded semiotic elements seems to pose an exceptionally interesting object of study, especially when it comes to the study of narrative dynamism. The author advocates a more detailed approach to the study of this medium, due to its semiotic complexity, and also due to his dissatisfaction with previous research, that in his opinion was too much concentrated on the linguistic aspect of the narrative structure and disregarded the anchorage of the text to other semiotic elements.
