Abstract

In this paper it is argued that poetic text builds powerful affective meanings relying on the timeline. The conceptual metaphor, TIME IS SPACE, has been revised in favor of a more complex structure of mappings, where the event of motion through space is influenced by its goal to represent time. It is believed that the timeline functions as an anchor for the time-space concept and, since temporal relations are given as spatial relation, the timeline helps the navigation of the time-space blend.
