Abstract

This study is about working with interpreters in psychotherapeutic sessions with traumatised asylum seekers in the Netherlands. The core of the study is the analysis of six sessions that have been taped. Part I of this book contains a description of the domain of study, an overview of the literature and a description of the research methodology. In Part II, the author describes factors that are assumed to be important in enabling a conversation with an interpreter – the concept generation. The author uses these concepts as a guideline for the analysis of the six sessions she described in Part III. In Part IV, the discussion and conclusions are presented. Part V contains the references, the appendices and the summaries.
