From the point of view of the interrelationship between literary and linguistic aspects, Bouvard et Pécuchet (1881) demonstrates significant episodes in the history of the noval as a genre; from the narrated story whose intention is rationalistic and in which there are scattered and underscored incidents of certain words to the discontinuous or imagistic novel informed by modern times. In the history of civilization the awareness that the bourgeois writer has of the crisis in bourgeois society is expressed in the newly developed material society of the Bildungsroman as well as in that which succeeds it. Concerning the socio-cultural and literary confrontation, two fundamental questions pose themselves for comparatists: one the one hand, the theoretical problem of being able to translate connotative values, and on the other, the question of knowing how the translator translates the 'universals of narrative discourse' which constitute the attitude, tone and point of view of the narration and are carried in essence by the grammatical-logical structures towards the semantic revaluation of the text. Which are the Flaubertian forms of 'deep mourning' on the micro-structural level that determine what the translation is to be. (How) can one explain their translation in detail?
