In this article, the author gives an overview of the existing process models in simultaneous interpretation. She goes into the complexity of the interpreting process and discusses the full process models of Gerver and Moser, before taking a look at the following partial process models: Lambert’s depth-of-processing model, the study of component processes of simultaneous interpreting and memory systems in simultaneous interpretation. She concludes the article by shedding some light on the ongoing research.
