Abstract
In this chapter, the author analyses the double role of the dialogue interpreter. The author first gives a definition of a ‘dialogue interpreter’ and then discusses the dialogue interpreter’s self-image. Wadensjö also looks at several aspects of the dialogue interpreter at work: relaying and co-ordinating.
