The objective of this paper is to comment on the discoveries in the fields of human psychology and brain physiology and in the field of language learning, mainly discussing the implications for the problems of bilingualism and language teaching. A discussion is presented of a report by George A.C. Scherer and M. Wertheimer, who conducted a comparative study of two distinct methods of teaching foreign languages. Their conclusions are examined in the light of findings concernings the physiology of the brain and the psychology of speech.
