Abstract

The Morgan project involves the translation of a book-length manuscript containing a number of essays on a German art collection from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, describing its historical background and looking into some technical aspects of the production of graphics of that period. The present article describes the preparation of a glossary for the translation team, the recruiting of the translators for the project, the use of computers in processing and assembling the translations, some of the unexpected problems encountered in the actual process of translating and editing, and their eventual solutions.
