Abstract
This paper presents an overall view of one of the very few translator training programs in the US that offered a full undergraduate major in 1988. It traces its evolution - from a Certificate Program (1976) to a full Undergraduate Major (1984) - through an anlysis of prerequisites, objectives, course work, methodology, resources and results. It also reviews the changes made from 1984 to 1988.
