Abstract

For the major world languages there is a wide range of references materials, which can be general or scientific and technical. The translator of a minor language, on the other hand, only has a limited range of specialized reference sources for that language. The present article discusses some of the reference sources the translator can use in orde to solve a number of problems such as the translation of personal names, place names, abbreviations and special subjects.
