Abstract

The discussions of the phenomena of nonverbal communication have also prompted interest in the questions of the relationship between language and non-language communciation. These questions are also touch concerns of the translator but an examiniation of these problems requires a far more accurate definiton of the phenomenon of nonverbal communication. This paper deals with the difficult problem of defining nonverbal communication and evaluates the useful application of the information derived from research on this aspect of communication to the practical task of translation.
