This paper describes internships as a desirable component in translato training programs. Discussed are some of the essential aspects to be considered in the planning, design, and implementatino of internships. The paper concludes with a presentation of model internship arrangements between Upjohn International, Inc and the Amway Corporation and Western Michigan University's Translation Studies Program.
