In this chapter, the author gives a brief introduction and then discusses simultaneous interpreting as a complex process. She enters into the particularity of simultaneous interpreting and highlights the cognitive load of the simultaneous interpreting activity. She talks about linguistic and extra linguistic knowledge and at the end of her contribution, she reveals some strategies. General strategies are for example anticipation and paraphrasing.
