This chapter is about graphic annotation: the organisation of notes on paper, or the way in which several signs, symbols, abbreviations or other elements are organised on paper. The way in which notes are organised is very important to consecutive interpreting. In this chapter, the author proposes an methodology for note-taking. She enters into the question what and how much to write down, she analyses a system for note-taking, discusses the language on which notes are taken, gives some indications about how to organise the paper on which notes will betaken, etc.
