Abstract

Countries setting up new translation training structures or adapting existing structures to new needs naturally turn towards schools with a long translation training tradition for advice and models. This paper attempts to show that while the experience gathered in existing institutions can be valuable, for specific situations in the target group it may be desirable to take some distance from reference models and to make one’s own decisions, flexibility and modularity being key words in the process.
