Abstract

This article presents a brief description of a project which has as its primary goal the integration of the use of computers into the teaching of translation. The aspects that are presented are the context in which the project took place, the various problems involved in the use of computers in the teaching of translation, and a description of the way in which the proposed program could function. The author concludes that while the integration of computers into the teaching of translation involves focussing on specific difficulties rather than on the translation process, it also has a number of advantages, most notably the possibility of tailoring the teaching environment to meet the needs of the individual students and the familiarization of students with a tool of particular importance for their future.
