Abstract

This paper suggests that ethics and politics of translation are intertwined in an ethico-political existence. Based on a distinction between micro- and macro-leveled politics of translation, the paper examines micro-leveled politics of translation from an ethical perspective and dwells on the ethico-political aspects of macro-leveled politics of translation. Though it seems that politics and ethics of translation represent a pair of conflicting forces, this paper reveals that politics can be ethical and ethics can be political.
