Abstract

All communication is translation. There are three types of translation: intralingual ("rewording"), interlingual ("translation proper"), and semiotic translation ("transmutation"). Language is far from being a neutral nomenclature, but everything can be said in any language (things get more complicated when form is an essential part of the message).
