In seven pages of this book (pp. 106-113), the main character, a writer, is visited by one of his translators, who has come to clear up some doubts. The translator has himself been an author and expresses his relief at no longer having to suffer the anxiety of not knowing if he had any business to write. On the other hand, he is forced to see that this view deprives him of the possibility of expressing his own experience and leads logically to the renunciation of his individuality.
