Abstract
The source texts one is confronted with in simultaneous interpreting are very diverse. A systematic description of source texts, however, seems necessary. Pöchhacker drafts a text profile based on a number of parameters (addressing, (un)spontaneous speech, mediality, speech tempo, melody, dynamics, rhythm, voice quality and articulation).
