Albert le Grand's De falconibus is a medieval treatise on hunting which deals with the following aspects: the difference between falcons and other birds of prey, different species of falcons, training and preparing for the hunt and treatment of sick or injured birds. This text was already translated into German Italian and French in the Middle Ages. This article deals with the four translations in Middle French made between the end of the 14th century and the 16th century. The article sets out to determine which French version is the most faithful translation based on the analysis of four different aspects (the degree of modification of the structure of the Latin text, omissions and additions, lexical elements and word order).
