Abstract

The article deals with the cognitive aspects of learning simultaneous interpretation. The author offers the inductive hypothesis, based on practice experience, that it would appear to be unadvisable to learn simultaneous interpreting by means of the trial and error method as this would appear to be contrary to the cognitive organisation of the mental processes in simultaneous interpreting.
