When defining the concept 'evaluation' in interpreting, it becomes clear that in order to do so, a number of different aspects have to be defined. There is no global, interdisciplinary research base which enables us to structure the components and dynamics of evaluation in interpreting. This base must be linguistic as well as intellectual/mental, and functional or pragmatic (empirical, cognitive, psychological).
