Abstract
The purpose of this article is to provide the reader with information about interpreters in the American judicial system. The author gives an overview of relevant US laws and the current challenges and issues in the US. The article offers a response to Morgan's article The Commission's draft Proposal for a Framework Decision on certain procedural rights applying in proceedings in criminal matters throughout the European Union in Aequilibrium: instruments for lifting language barriers in intercultural legal proceedings and furnishes an examination of how matters addressed by the Proposal for a Council Framework Decision are handled in the United States.
