The issue of quality in simultaneous interpreting (SI) is as complex as simultaneous interpreting itself. This article deals with the issue of quality from the point of view of simultaneous interpreting, describing the most important influences and characteristics of an SI performance. The article further discusses evaluation criteria that can be found in specialist literature and proposes criteria that can be used for the description and evaluation of SI performances for didactic, professional and research purposes.
