Abstract

This Italian translation of Teória umeleckého prekladu appeared 31 years after the Slovak original. In spite of this, many positions and insights are still fresh and provocative. The book contains the author’s thoughts and definitions on aspects of literary translation such as the “prototext” (source text) and “metatext”(target text), and his view on the notion of equivalence and creativity.
