The article discusses translation-adaptation of Italian cinematographic works distributed in France. The focus is on the diachronic aspect of this phenomenon, often neglected in research which is conducted from a linguistic or Translation Studies point of view, in order to better understand the intercultural aspects of translation in the adaptation of Italian films in France (from the 1940's until now), which allows a number of questions with regard to regional voices to be looked at in detail.
