Even-Zohar, Itamar. 2002. The making of culture repertoire and the role of transfer. In Paker, Saliha, ed. Translations: (re)shaping of literature and culture. Istanbul: Bogaziçi University Press. pp. 166–174.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest a set of hypotheses or handling the relations between the processes and procedures involved with the making of repertoire on the one hand, and import and transfer on the other. Beyond the attempt itself, that is to draft links and interdependencies between these two phenomena, the author is interested in drawing the attention of people interested in procedures and products of transfer, for example translation theory in its established sense, to the socio-cultural juncture where transfer plays a role. This role sometimes becomes a major one for the fate of societies and cultures; but even at times when it is a minor one, it is nonetheless present and indispensable. Therefore it deserves discussion in terms of culture research.
