Abstract
This study analyses two translations of García Lorca's poetic play Bodas de Sangre. It illustrates most of the difficulties and/or failures found at a pragmatic level. The author examines the strategies used by the translators to attain, in the target text, the same intended message of the source text, their attempt to maintain the stylistics of the original, the degree of manipulation shown by the translators and the mechanisms of transfer they have used.
